Drowned In The Thames

While a six-year-old boy, named Joseph Stanford, of Canbury-passage, Kingston, was paddling in the Thames near Kinston Bridge yesterday, he stepped into a hole and was carried away by the tide and drowned. Two men who dived in fully dressed were unable to find the body, which was recovered afterwards by the police with drags.
