US Strikes on Iranian Leadership: America Claims “We Can Kill Leaders Anywhere” – So Does Iran Have the Same Right?

The United States and Israel have now openly targeted Iranian leadership. In the past 48 hours, precision strikes hit command centers in Tehran and Isfahan. Iranian state media reports several senior Revolutionary Guard commanders killed, and there are unconfirmed claims that figures close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei were also hit.

President Trump did not deny the leadership targeting. In a late-night statement he said: “We are hitting the head of the snake.”

Iran’s Counter-Threat: “We Will Hunt Your Leaders Worldwide”

Iran’s Supreme Leader and the IRGC responded immediately and brutally:

“If America and its allies can kill our leaders anywhere, we have the full right to kill theirs — in Washington, New York, Europe, or anywhere on Earth. No American senator, general or politician is safe.”

The Legal Reality – The Double Standard Exposed

Here is the uncomfortable truth:

The United States itself has repeatedly claimed that there is no international law preventing it from killing enemy leaders anywhere in the world. Examples:

The 2020 drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Iraq.
The killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.
Multiple drone assassinations in Yemen, Syria and Somalia.

The US position is clear: when it does this, it calls it “self-defense” or “targeted elimination of terrorists.” But when Iran threatens to do exactly the same thing to American senators and officials, the US immediately labels it “terrorism” and “state-sponsored murder.”

Iran now uses America’s own logic against it: “If you say international law doesn’t stop you from killing our leaders anywhere, then the same rules apply to us.”

This is the dangerous mirror the world is now staring into.

What Happens Next?

If Iran actually attempts attacks on US politicians or military leaders abroad, the United States has already promised overwhelming retaliation — possibly including strikes deep inside Iran that go far beyond military targets.

The conflict has moved from “war between states” to “global manhunt.” The rules America wrote for itself are now being turned against it.
