NYC police hold holidays ‘sleigh ride’ to give away gifts to children

The New York City Police Department held the last day of its annual ‘Operation Sleigh Ride’ through five boroughs of the city on Monday, giving away presents to children, and bringing live music and performances to impoverished communities.

Officers dressed up as superheroes, such as Spiderman or Hulk, to entertain kids in need.

More than 13.000 gifts were given away over three days, according to the NYPD. The presents were offered by the First Responders Children’s Foundation and the NYC Police Foundation, as well as private citizens.
