Mesmirising fireworks on Mount Fuji slopes help people reconnect in COVID times

Visitors of Grinpa Amusement Park were amazed by the fireworks held on the lower slopes of Mount Fuji, Shizuoka prefecture, Saturday. This is the first Mt Fuji Fireworks Festival event and it is expected to be held annually from now on.

Around 5,000 fireworks were launched at the spot, with the capacity at the venue limited to 4,500 people with social distancing rules in place due to COVID regulations.

Junya Yamada, CEO of David J. Production said that the event was organised “to keep the connection strong and important,” as, in the times of COVID, it has become ‘difficult for people to get together.’

The visitors of the park were equally excited, with some stressing that the fireworks event was the first one they saw in years.
