Kentucky’s Mayfield ‘with heart ripped out’ following deadly tornadoes

Levelled houses, destroyed buildings, battered infrastructures, damaged cars and trees could be seen in Kentucky’s Mayfield on Thursday following the recent deadly stream of tornados that ripped through the US South and Midwest.

Emergency services, including the army, were seen on-site while helping to clear up the damage and assist residents in need.

“I said one day, God will send something through the heart of Mayfield, and He sent something through the heart and ripped it out,” said one resident. At least 89 people have so far been pronounced dead across multiple locations affected by the tornadoes; many more are still missing.
