The Russian-built Bremach 4×4 SUV was exhibited on Thursday at the AutoMobility event in Los Angeles, the mobility industry’s press and analyst event preceding the LA Auto Show.
According to their website, Bremach is an “automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) with facilities in Southern California” and an “OEM partner of UAZ”, a Russian vehicle manufacturer.
“What makes the Bremach so unique [is that] this is the first Russian vehicle to be brought to the United States for the American people. It has an amazing value, an amazing quality and a ten-year warranty,” explained Ray Hoogenraad, the president of Bremach.
The vehicle, sold in the US through Bremach’s dealer network, is based on the Russian ‘Patriot’ model by UAZ. “This has never been done, there has never been a Russian vehicle imported from Russia into the United States,” claimed Hoogenraad.
The vehicle has four-wheel drive and is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.7 litre petrol engine that makes 150 horsepower and is combined with a GM-sourced six-speed automatic gearbox.
“The retail price is going to be 26,400 dollars (Approximately €23,000 or £19,300) which is unbelievable for a vehicle that has an air conditioned glove box, heated steering wheel, heated seats, heated front window, heated rear window, heated rear seats, air conditioning, 6-speed automatic transmission, fully, fully loaded for 26,000 dollars,” commented Hoogenraad.
The vehicle is expected to be available for purchase in 2022. Automobility LA kicked off on November 17 as an in-person event for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and runs until Thursday for press and industry members.
The event is followed by the LA Auto Show, scheduled to take place between November 19 and 28, and which is open to the general public.
