Police were seen patrolling the streets of Kongsberg, Norway on Wednesday night, after at least four people were killed and several others were injured by a man armed with a bow and arrow.
Local police Chief Oeyvind Aas said that a suspect had been apprehended and an investigation is currently underway. Emergency vehicles were also at the scene of the crime which reportedly started inside a local Coop Extra grocery store.
The country’s police officers were ordered to carry firearms nationwide as a precaution, according to the police directorate. Usually police in Norway are not armed.
Residents were ordered to stay indoors for safety reasons as police gather evidence and corner off certain areas.
