Heavy rains and flooding hit the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and left at least four dead and dozens missing in different towns of the western state. Footage from multiple localities across Ahr Valley from Wednesday night and Thursday shows flooded streets, residences and camping parks. According to reports, several houses have collapsed while several others are in danger of collapsing in the districts of Schuld and Ahrweiler, where dozens are either missing or stranded on rooftops. The floods also prompted mass evacuations and several road closures. Fire brigades and rescue workers have been deployed to multiple cities in the area.
