A new luxury resort that floats on the water will soon open in Dubai. The first house of the Sea Palace resort – which is comprised of a hotel and 12 floating glass boat villas – left the Ras Al Khaima port on Sunday en route to the Dubai Marina.
It took workers approximately one hour to move the villa 100 metres from the dry berth area to the water. “It will then be here for approximately one month for continuing the refit on the internal side and then it will move down to Dubai for its final home,” explained Colin Gari, director of Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Jazeera Port.
The two-storey villas can detach from the main hotel and set sail on their own. They have a rooftop with an outdoor swimming pool, four bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room.
The $164-million resort is in the final stages of construction.
