Fields of tulips and other flowers including narcissus were seen in bloom in the Keukenhof Park – also known as the Garden of Europe – in Lisse on Sunday.
In a normal year, the best time to visit the tulip fields is from mid April to the beginning of May.
The largest flower park in the world, Keukenhof extends itself over an area of 32 hectares, with an estimated 7 million flower bulbs being planted in the gardens every year.
The Keukenhof lost a whole eason last year to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its scheduled 20 March opening this year didn’t take place because of the Netherlands’ ongoing restrictions.
