Mummies paraded through Cairo during transfer to new National Museum

The remains of 22 ancient Egyptian rulers, 18 kings and four queens, were paraded through Cairo, on Saturday, as they were transferred from the Egyptian Museum to the nearby National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).

Decorated vehicles can be seen carrying the mummies, including King Ramses II, from one museum to the other in a show which has been called The Pharaohs’ Golden Parade. The parade included a marching drum band as well as other elements.
