Students on spring break flooded the beaches of Fort Lauderdale on Saturday after the city voted down curfew and beach closure ordinances.
Crowds of students neither observing social distancing measures nor wearing masks could be seen at the beach and its nearby bars and restaurants.
“We out here for the weekend, for the week and we are not scared of COVID. We are out here getting laid. You can’t let that shit ruin your life you gotta live baby let’s get it,” explained one student.
Several American colleges and universities have cancelled the traditional spring break period to avoid mass gathering and potential new outbreaks.
The US is the worlds most COVID-hit country with more than half a million recorded deaths.
