Golden statue of Trump greets attendees at CPAC conference in Orlando

A golden statue of former US President Donald Trump has been attracting attention at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) taking place in Orlando, Florida, as filmed on Friday.

It was designed by California-based artist Tommy Zegan who says his project was a response to artworks mocking Trump. “The concept behind this statue is that he is wearing a suit, so he’s professional. He’s got his red tie on, for the Republican party.

He’s got shorts on, that are red, white, and blue, which means he’s a patriot,” said Zegan. Republican Senator Ted Cruz and Donald Trump Jr. delivered their speeches at the event on Friday, while the former President was expected to attend the conference on Sunday.
