Hundreds of pink flamingos rest on Kazakh lake

A flock of pink flamingos found a temporary shelter on Karakol Lake near the city of Aktau on their way south, as shown in footage released on Monday. The first flock of flamingos reached the Karakol Lake in early October. The reservoir is protected by environmental inspectors. According to the Aktau city authorities, the flamingos arrived from the Kazakh Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve, where they live on Tengiz and Korgalzhyn lakes. The birds will later head to the Khazar Reserve in Turkmenistan or Iran to spend the winter there. (ruptly.tv)
