Heavy rainfall floods Fort Lauderdale streets as tropical storm Eta hits land

Streets in Fort Lauderdale city were left severely flooded as heavy rainfall poured down in Florida following tropical storm Eta making landfall. Fort Lauderdale residents appeared to be unable to leave porches due to extensive flooding, in footage from Sunday night and Monday morning. The storm approached the southwest coast of Florida with winds reaching a reported 115 kmh (72 mph) on Sunday night. Eta is expected to be upgraded into a hurricane on Tuesday, as schools, beaches and public transport remained closed in preparation for the storm. Around 200 people have been killed or are feared dead from Eta, after it battered Central America. (ruptly.tv)
