Measuring a total of 7,327 square metres (78,867 square foot), the Palm Fountain broke the Guinness world record on Dubai’s waterfront complex Palm Jumeirah. “The fountain is a great example of another milestone at Dubai’s architectural achievements and we are excited to declare it officially amazing,” Guinness World Records production manager, Danny Hickson, said on Thursday after verifying the record for the largest fountain. The fountain performs water shows with 128 “super shooter” water fountain jets, capable of blasting water 105 metres (344 feet) into the air. “We have the east and the west of the point, so we have actually two fountains,” Palm Jumeirah Assets Director Gail Sangster said. “The beauty of these fountains is the fact that they are multicoloured, so we have over 3,000 LED lights,” she added.
